RANTAU PANJANG – The General Operations Force (PGA) arrested two individuals, a man and a woman, while unloading boxes containing cannabis nuggets worth RM1.95 million in a raid at the illegal base of Tok Awang Belulang yesterday.

The two individuals were arrested at 7.20am through the assignment of Op Taring Wawasan Kelantan in the area of the illegal base.

Southeast Brigade Commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Nik Ab. Hamid said that during the raid, they found the two individuals moving several boxes from the jetty into a pickup truck.

“The results of the examination at the location led to the discovery of marijuana weighing 55,899 kilograms (kg).

“Urine test screening found that the woman, who is a Thai citizen, tested positive for methamphetamine,” he told reporters here today.

Nik Ros Azhan said the PGA did not rule out the possibility that the drugs were suspected for the local market.

He said the two suspects were handed over to the Pasir Mas District Police Headquarters for further investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15(1)(a) of the same act.
