Renault Captur Stylish and Versatile – Review

I have recently test driven Renault Captural 2015. It is really stylish,  spacious inside,  and it comes with  a modern powertrain that delivers lively performance together with outstanding fuel efficiency and safety. 


It arrived in Malaysia just few months ago on 29th July 2015, and it received good response from customers as it stands out from the crowd by offering the expressive styling and high driving position of an SUV. The agility and driving enjoyment is like driving a compact sedan.When it comes to driving pleasure, the Renault Captur delivers best-level dynamics, and agile handling .


Renault captur has elegant design – its proportions and fluid curves evoke movement and lightness, yet at the same time displaying powerful and muscular. The interior of Renault Captur is designed to be both welcoming and occupant-friendly. The seat-covers are removable for easy washing. The captur crossover is designed for everyday use, and for everybody, young adult and old adult, for single people and married people. Actually those modern drivers with high taste would like this car so much.


The Captur features the company’s Turbo Control Efficiency or TCe 120 engine– a modern powertrain that comes in a small engine displacement with a turbocharger, delivering performance equivalent to a traditional 1.8L engine. Mated to a 6-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) transmission which delivers fast but smooth gear changes, Renault’s punchy new drivetrain enables the Captur to deliver maximum power of 120hp at 4900 rpm and peak torque of 190 Nm that is available from as low as 2,000 rpm – enabling powerful acceleration from low revs. At the same time, this spirited crossover also offers best-in-class fuel efficiency of up to 5.4L/100km.


For Safety and Comfort, Captur has won five-star rating in the Euro NCAP. It comes with  four high-efficiency airbags – dual frontal and dual head/thorax side,  two impact detection sensors on each side, one in the front doors and the other in the B-pillars, Pedestrian Protection, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Roll Movement Intervention, Hill Start Assist prevents the vehicle from rolling back when the driver releases the foot brake by temporarily holding the vehicle stationary, ABS and Emergency Brake Assist, plus latest-generation ESC traction control complete with seven sensors.


For comfort, it is equipped with  Auto Headlights and Rain Sensors, MediaNav with 7” touchscreen, AUX, USB, Bluetooth, Navigation,Reverse camera, Keyless entry, multi-position boot floor is also reversible, with carpeting on one side and plastic on the other. The uncluttered form of the large boot enables it to hold from 377 to 455 litres. The height-adjustable driver's seat has 70mm of travel so that drivers of all sizes can find a comfortable driving position.


Since its debut, the Captur has become one of Renault’s most popular and in-demand models, with over 360,000 units sold globally to date. This increasingly successful compact urban crossover has also been the best-selling model in Europe’s small SUV segment. The price in Malaysia market is ranged from RM118 to 123k.
