WELLINGTON Nov 5 - Veteran Hollywood star Burt Reynolds says that, despite his past exploits, he will resist the urge to bungy jump nude during his stay in the resort town of Taupo, central North Island.
Reynolds, 67, in Taupo to film comedy movie ``Without a Paddle,'' made his first and only bungy jump during a visit to New Zealand 15 years ago, fully clothed. Some bungy jumping companies in Taupo waive the fee if a jumper agrees to do it unclad.
``I have done everything I'm going to do naked for the rest of my life,'' he told reporters on Tuesday.
Reynolds, a sex symbol in the 70s, said it wouldn't be ``as salacious a thrill'' as it was when he almost bared all for a Cosmopolitan centrefold in 1972.
The cast and crew of ``Without a Paddle'' - a comedy about three city-slicker friends who venture into the wilderness in search of a hidden cache of loot - have been shooting in and around the forests of central North Island in recent weeks.
The actor dismissed suggestions that his character in the film pays homage to his role in ``Deliverance'' - in which four city slickers run into redneck trouble while on a kayaking expedition.
Deliverance, he said, was his best film.
Reynolds' resume includes some 50 roles ranging from TV show ``Riverboat,'' to his breakthrough performance as the macho Lewis Medlock in ``Deliverance'' (1972).
Other credits include Smokey and the Bandit (1977), and Boogie Nights (1997) for which he won an Oscar nomination and received a Golden Globe for best supporting actor. - AP
