Police confirm dead woman as Norhanani

KUALA LUMPUR Feb 4 - Police confirmed the decomposed body of a woman found near the Semenyih Dam, at Km 10 Jalan Tekali, two days ago was Norhanani Yahya, 30. Kajang District CID Chief DSP Zainuddin Ahmad said it was confirmed after her husband Sufian Mat Noor, 31, identified the beaded necklace and clothing belonging to his wife.

"The victim's husband came to Kajang Hospital this evening to identify the body. A post-mortem also revealed that the victim died of severe head injuries," he said when contacted by Bernama Tuesday.

A more accurate confirmation was obtained after a 2-hour DNA test conducted on the body, he said.

The victim was the mother of Mohd Fauzan Naim Sufian, 3, who was found about two kilometres away where the body was located.

The disappearance of the mother and son received wide media coverage after, her husband issued a press statement.

Following the statement police conducted a search for the missing woman and her body was found two days ago near the Semenyih Dam - wearing a batik dress and dark pants.

On Tuesday, a man found the freezing and starving Mohd Fauzan near the jungle area.
